I don't know if I agree with Mr. Ruskin (above), but it was a nice quote at the time.

    I agree with your comment if "industry" refers to "Commercial production and sale of goods." If, on the other hand, "industry" refers to "diligent activity directed to some purpose" (its original meaning from the Latin "industria"), then I think Mr. Ruskin may have a very good point.
