Incomprehensible Blathering

Phantom

I went to see the Phantom of the Opera on Friday night at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. It was quite a show. The presentation was fantastic as were the sets, the costumes and the seats. (I lucked out and managed to acquire tickets in row K, a mere 11 rows from the stage. As it was, I had difficulty keeping track of everything that was going on.) The only thing that put me off a bit was the singing. I've spoiled myself by listening to CD's from the original Broadway production and quite honestly, these singers were not as good. "Christine" specifically and the "Phantom" seemed off. Of course, these folks have been doing these performances non-stop for the last month, so I'm betting their voices may be a little tired, too. *shrug* Oh well, it was still an awesome show. Never-the-less, Les Misérable was still better. ;-)
